Adam James Waymire was born in Anderson, Indiana at St. John's Medical Center on March 11, 1980. He was the only child of Dick and Jane (Speidel) Waymire. He weighed in at 4 lbs. 15 oz., and was 18 inches in length.
1985 - 1999
Adam attended Indiana Christian Academy in Anderson, Indiana. From 1st through the 6th grade, Adam placed 1st yearly in every Science fair. When he was in the 2nd grade, he took home a trophy for his Science fair project 'How Does Temperature Affect Crystal Formation'. In grades 4,5, and 6 he took 1st place ribbon for his watercolor paintings. In the 6th grade, he also took a superior rating for a watercolor of a space shuttle at lift off. Science was his favorite subject with a deep love for the space program. In the summer of 1992, he attended Space Training in Huntsville, AL. There he met and talked to astronaut Mike Mullane. Adam went to Eastside Middle School in Anderson the year of 1994. He also attended Highland High School in 1995 for a year. From 1996 to 1998 he attended Oak Hill High School where he graduated in 1998. He attended Ball State University to study architecture, but left college for employment at General Motors in September of 1999. He remained employed there until his death.
1985-life
Adam started taking tennis lessons at the age of 5. He won three medals, the first of which when he was 7 years of age. He continued to enjoy the sport throughout his life.
1987-1989
Adam took piano lessons for two years.
1993
Adam studied guitar and took lessons.
1998-1999
While he was studying at Ball State, he began playing the drums. Adam was a natural. He never took lessons. He formed a local band called Past Due. When he wasn't drumming with the band on weekends, he was D-J'ing. Music was Adam's passion. He loved all types of music-everything from gospel to rap.
1999-2004
Adam began working for General Motors in September 1999. He worked there until the time of his death. During this time, he moved back to Anderson, buying his own home.
2004
Passed away on November 26, 2004 (the day following Thanksgiving Day) at the age of 24.
